RE form - part of Welcome House
A place for stories, exhibitions and social transformation. Right in the middle of central Gällivare is RE-form. It is a place where you can get to know Gällivare a little better.
Here, history, present and future meet through exhibitions, stories and digital experiences. Whether you are visiting or living here, RE-form is a good place to start.
What is RE-form?
RE-form was created as part of the urban transformation in Gällivare and Malmberget.
When society changes and grows in new places, the need to document, tell and explain what is happening also arises. RE-form serves as a meeting place where visitors can take part in the journey.
Here you can follow the development of Gällivare, learn more about the history of the area and take part in various exhibitions throughout the year.
Exhibitions that change over time
A large part of RE-form is about temporary exhibitions.
During the year, exhibitions are presented with different themes, often with a connection to the place, the people and the nature of Gällivare. Here, visitors have been able to take part in, among other things:
- Photo exhibitions
- Art exhibitions
- Cultural history stories
- Nature photography
- Local cultural projects
- Documentation of urban transformation
The exhibitions change regularly, which means that there is often something new to discover.
The urban transformation is being told on site
Gällivare and Malmberget are undergoing one of Sweden's largest urban transformations.
At RE-form, you can gain a better understanding of why the changes are happening and how they affect people, buildings and entire communities. Exhibitions and information show how houses are being moved, how new residential areas are emerging and how the future of Gällivare is developing.
It's not just about buildings. It's also about people's memories, everyday life and relationship to the place.
A good stop all year round
RE-form is an activity that works regardless of the weather and season.
During the winter, it can be a good break between skiing and excursions. During the summer, it is perfect for those who want to learn more about the place they are visiting.
Many people combine a visit to RE-form with a walk through central Gällivare or along the Vassara River. As well as a visit to the Gällivare Cultural Museum.
