Gällivare is an Arctic small town 100 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle. The winter season starts in November and is long and glorious - with good chances of seeing the northern lights. Here, the midnight sun shines for a whole month during the summer, inviting you to adventure day and night.

Gällivare stands with one foot in the breathtaking mountain world and the other in the cozy countryside. In Gällivare, you will find the Laponia world heritage, which includes the national parks Sarek, Padjelanta/Badjelánnda, Stora Sjöfallet/Stuor Muorkke and Muddus/Muttos, as well as the nature reserves Sjaunja/Sjávnja and Stubba.
