July

It is the warmest and most visited month of the year. The hiking trails around Laponia have started to thaw, and the landscape is flourishing. Many visitors choose to hike the Kungsleden between Saltoluokta and Kvikkjokk, a hike of about four days. Here, you can see beautiful forest landscapes to the east and Sarek National Park's high mountains to the west.

If you want to experience something adrenaline-pumping, there is the downhill course for mountain bikes at Dundret: 5,000 meters of cycle track from the top of the mountain down to the bottom. Enjoy heart-pounding views of Gällivare; nothing beats the feeling of taking control of the terrain.

If you prefer shopping, we recommend visiting the summer market, arranged at the turn of June-July in the city center. You can buy freshly baked bread, handicrafts, and other goodies here. You will find everything for a successful picnic. Don't miss the legendary Lemmel coffee, and the excursion is complete.
